Weekly Small Group Guides: STREAKS – Week 2

Big Idea of the Series: “Streak” will encourage your students to create routines that matter. On social media, a “streak” is when users are active for days in a row. Will we create “streaks” in our own pursuit of discipleship and sanctification?

Week 2 Bible Reference: Ephesians 4:11-16

Topic: The Goal of Growth

Big Idea of the Message: Spiritual maturity is a marathon, not a sprint (patience in the process)

Key Statement:

  • MS: The better I know God personally the better I can follow Him intimately.
  • HS: My present decisions will determine my future destination.

ICE BREAKER:  What is something that you don’t have patience for?  (people, activity, other)

Discussion Questions:

Ephesians 4:11-13

  • What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s verse?
  • Do you value the Church’s role in equipping you for your ministry (to live out your God given mission)?  How can you value it more?
  • According to Paul, what is the goal of spiritual growth?

Ephesians 4:14

  • What does it mean to be “tossed by the wind?”  (Back and for from believing to doubting…the goal is to be consistent so that we don’t doubt our believes and believe our doubts)
  • What are ways in which we can be more disciplined this week?

Ephesians 4:15

  • “We” grow better TOGETHER in love.  It’s harder to grow when you do it alone.  We need each other.
