  • What is the purpose of baptism?  To identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.  When you are immersed in water, you bury your sinful nature.  When you come up out of the water, you experience the new life and resurrection that can only come from Jesus.
  • What is the significance of baptism?  Baptism is a symbol of one’s commitment to God.  It’s a ceremony where you declare that Jesus Christ is your God and your are now his son or daughter.
  • Who should be baptized?  Anyone who desires to commit their lives to Jesus, turn from their sins, and trust in God should be baptized.  Even though we do offer baby dedication ceremonies, being baptized is something that only someone who chooses to commit their lives to Jesus Christ should do.
  • Why should you be baptized?  All believers are called to publicly display their commitment to Christ, and being water baptized is how we do it.  Also, Jesus was water baptized (Mark 1:9-11) and commands all believers to do the same (Matthew 28:19-20).
  • How should I prepare to be baptized?  We offer a 1 hour class that will help to prepare for your water baptism and answer any questions that you might have.
  • When should I get baptized?  You should be baptized at your first opportunity after having received Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  We recommend that you attend our ABC’s of the Christian Faith which is a class for new believers.  For more information, email us at to sign up.
